He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS in 2013 and completed his Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2019. He went on to complete his sports medicine training and has been a Fellow in Sports Medicine in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore since 2023.

He is also passionate about musculoskeletal ultrasound and currently is the course director of the Alexandra Academy of Clinical and Emergency Sonography (AACES) Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course.

He has competed in strength sports regularly since 2008, from dabbling in bodybuilding and kettlebell sport in his early years to placing 2nd  in the HomeTeamNS Singapore Strongman Challenge 2013 and winning the Inaugural Singapore Strongman Classic in 2014.

He won several first place finishes in the U110kg class in the Singapore Powerlifting Alliance over 2014-2017, battled an autoimmune disease for 6 years, and recently returned to form, obtaining 2nd place in Thailand’s Strongest Man 2024 in the U105kg class.

Having experienced numerous injuries in his 17-year passion for strength sports, he believes a good strength and conditioning programme to build a wide range of physical capacities often trumps many specific medical diagnoses in the musculoskeletal medical world.
