Joel Lim

ISA Group’s Chief Executive Officer

Joel Lim is currently ISA Group’s Chief Executive Officer, and is responsible for managing the Group’s businesses which now includes International Management and Sports College (IMSC), a Edutrust accredited private education institution, International Sports Academy (ISA), Singapore’s leading education and training provider in the area of Sports and Fitness Training, Apex Consortium Swimming and Impact Aquatics, two fast growing swim academies, and many others.

Joel has vast experience in growing and managing successful businesses in the education and student enrichment industry.  He first founded Spiritmakers, a student development company providing courses for students of various levels (from Pre-School to University) while he was still reading law in National University of Singapore (“NUS”).  Under Joel’s directions, Spiritmakers has trained thousands of students from over 50 education institutions.  His clients included pre-schools such as Kinderland, to secondary schools such as NUS High School, Victoria School, Hwa Chong Institution, and to universities such as NUS and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

Thereafter, he also appointed as Indigo Education Group’s Chief Operating Officer, a student enrichment company providing academic enrichment classes to more than 2,000 students studying in primary schools, secondary schools, and junior colleges in Singapore.  He also personally built and headed the secondary school department, helping it to achieve more than 50% year on year growth in student numbers.

Joel graduated from the NUS with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2009 and was once placed on the Dean’s list for his academic excellence.

After his graduation, Joel joined Allen & Gledhill LLP (“A&G”), Singapore’s biggest law firm, and Pinsent Masons (“PM”), a world leading law firm specialising in construction law.  He was also twice appointed as an Amicus Curiae in two separate Magistrate’s Appeal to assist the Court in addressing difficult questions of law pertaining to sentencing in two separate cases.  His submissions were further stated to be “thorough and helpful” by the Honourable Chief Justice, Sundaresh Menon.
